You say NEWEX, you think Zamak Mercator

We have mentioned in article few months ago, that we have exceptional pleasure to participate in prestigious EU project called NEWEX. It is based on close cooperation between partners from the industrial and academic sectors of universities from different countries of the European Union. The result of the work in this joint venture will be innovative technical solutions, but also very important contacts and acquaintance established between all participants in this project.

On the 23rd of October 2017 begun the stay of participants from University of Minho (Portugal) and Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia) in the headquarters of ZAMAK MERCATOR in Skawina. All guests took part in interesting lectures and presentations prepared by our team. The aim of this stage of the project is to present innovational concept for the rotational barrel segment.

The stay of our guests consists not only of scientific discussion. On 26th of October 2017, with the courtesy of researchers from Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology of Cracow University of Technology we have visited campus and chemical laboratories of this leading Polish university. The Institute of Polymer Technology specializes in new composite materials synthesis, which are egzamined in laboratories of spectrometry and thermal analysis. Owned by the Institute laboratory of polymer processing is equipped with many machines of ZAMAK MERCATOR, including: single-screw extruder (ZAMAK EHP-25E), twin-screw extruder (ZAMAK EHP-24D with drive module MP1), cooling bath, pelletizer, fibre-stretching device, injection moulding machine and press.

Our guests ha dan opportunity to see modern microscope SEM, infrared spectrometer and AFM atomic force microscope. In thermal analysis laboratory Prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Pielichowski told about research on TG / DSC simultaneous analyzer and thermomechanical analyzer conducted on plastics with reduced flammability. Whereas, dr.
